No mystery, no pressure, no fine print sprung on you at the end. Here is exactly how enrolment works at Little Roots, and how our flexible plans are built.
How enrolment works
Most families move through this in a handful of conversations. We will never ask you to commit before you have stood in the room your child would be in.
Call, email or send the enquiry form. Tell us your child’s age, the schedule you need and roughly when you would like to start. We will tell you honestly what availability looks like — including if it means a waiting list.
Come and see it. The rooms, the educators, a real routine in progress — not a staged tour of an empty building. Bring your child, bring your questions, and ask us the awkward ones about safety and supervision.
We match your child to the right program — Toddler Education, or Preschool & School Readiness — based on readiness, not birthday alone. Play-Based Learning & Development Activities run across every age band regardless.
Pick the schedule that matches your working week — full-time or part-time — and any add-ons: a sibling place, a preschool-readiness package, parent-workshop sessions. We will lay out the current fee structure in writing, in full, before you decide.
Registration forms, emergency contacts, authorised pick-up list, health and allergy information, and the consents — including photo and media consent, which is entirely optional and yours to refuse or withdraw at any time.
A phased start where possible: a short visit or two so the room, the smells and the faces are already familiar before the first full day. Then your child begins, and the observation cycle starts.
Flexible plans
Families do not all need the same thing, so we do not sell one package. Here is the structure — the current rates for each are confirmed to you in writing during enrolment.
A full working week, five days, for families who need consistent all-day care with the full learning program running underneath it.
Selected days each week — for shift patterns, hybrid work, a parent at home part of the week, or easing a very young child into group care.
More than one child with us? A sibling discount applies to your second and subsequent children, on either a full-time or part-time schedule.
A focused preschool-readiness package for the run-up to kindergarten, and Parent & Child Early Learning Workshop sessions as an add-on to any plan.
We will not quote you a number on a web page and change it when you walk in. Fees depend on the program, the schedule you choose, the add-ons you want and any discount you qualify for — so we put the current, complete fee structure in front of you in writing during enrolment, before you commit to anything.
Market context, not our pricing: under Ontario’s Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system, fees at participating licensed centres are capped at $22 per day from 1 January 2025. It is a useful benchmark when you are comparing what families across the province pay.
A settling-in visit is the best way to know whether a room is right for your child.
