Our mission
“To provide children aged 0-5 with a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that supports early learning, school readiness, and overall development through structured programs, play-based activities, and strong parent engagement.”
About the centre
Little Roots Learning Centre exists because the first five years are not a waiting room for school — they are the foundation. So we built a centre where care and curriculum are the same thing.
Our story
Ontario families are stretched. Half of parents report difficulty finding care at all, and the employment rate of mothers with children under five has climbed from 62% in 1997 to 73% in 2023. When a space finally opens up, the question most parents are quietly asking is not just “is my child safe here?” but “is my child learning here?”
Little Roots Learning Centre was founded to answer both questions at once. We are an early-years education centre for children aged 0–5 in Markham — infants, toddlers and preschoolers — where warm, attentive care runs on top of a real, structured curriculum. Circle time has a purpose. Play is guided. Progress is observed, recorded and shared with you.
That is the whole idea: an environment that is genuinely playful for a three-year-old and genuinely professional for their parents.

Mission & vision
“To provide children aged 0-5 with a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that supports early learning, school readiness, and overall development through structured programs, play-based activities, and strong parent engagement.”
“To become a trusted early year learning centre in Canada that nurtures young children through quality education, safe care, and strong developmental support during the most important stage of life.”
The eight values
Values are only worth anything if they change what happens on a Tuesday morning. Here is what each of ours actually means in the room.
The plan follows the child, not the other way around. Each child’s pace, interests and stage shape how a goal is taught.
Secure entry, careful supervision, allergy-aware routines and daily checks. Trust is earned in the details, every single day.
Flexible full-time and part-time plans, sibling discounts and add-ons — so quality early education is not a luxury purchase.
Pre-literacy, numeracy readiness and classroom habits, so the first day of kindergarten feels familiar rather than frightening.
You are the expert on your child. We bring the structure, observations and workshops — and we listen to what you tell us.
Newcomer and multilingual families are welcome here. A child’s first language is an asset in our rooms, never an obstacle.
Educators who plan, observe and document properly — and keep learning themselves. Standards do not relax when nobody is watching.
We grow only as fast as we can keep quality intact. Every new space must be as good as the first one we opened.
The founder
Founder & sole director, LITTLEROOTS LEARNING CENTRE INC.
Rabia founded Little Roots to close the gap between minding a child and teaching one — a centre where a 0–5 child gets both, and their parents get proof of it.
As sole director, Rabia signs off on the curriculum, the safety policies and the progress-reporting system. There is no committee to hide behind.
